Janet Newman: A career Interim Minister in the Unitarian Universalist Church
Ministry The responsibility of an interim minister is, first and foremost, to minister to the spiritual needs of the congregation. I may serve only for a specific period of time, but during that period I engage fully with the members of my temporary community. This gallery of photos illustrates many of the rewarding aspects of ministry, such as delivering sermons, teaching religious education, guiding and welcoming new members, presiding at rites of passage, meeting and greeting, singing with the choir, engaging with children and youth, enjoying social time with congregants, representing the church in the larger community, and much more.
